Lexus makes it very difficult and expensive to replace the plastic climate control face. These typically break and crack over time due to heat and removing the unit for aftermarket stereo installations. There are two different climate control faces, one if you do not have navigation or if you are removing the factory navigation and installing an aftermarket stereo unit. When your buttons start not working anymore, like the convertible roof button, or temperature buttons – this means the fragile circuit film behind the buttons is failing. Unfortunately Lexus does not sell this thin film separate and there’s no way we can repair or replace this without selling you an entire climate control unit. This isn’t a bad thing because we have a warranty and we promise that your buttons will work again. You can buy our 2002 – 2005 Lexus SC430 HVAC Climate Control Unit 55900-24260 or our 2006 – 2010 Lexus SC430 HVAC Climate Control Unit 55900-24390. Every seller online is going to try and tell you the 2002 – 2010 climate control units all interchange. They are incorrect. The units circuit boards are different and you will not be a happy if you already have done this and ended up on this page.
If you think you can try and piece a climate control together online or buy a new one from Lexus it’s just not possible. Lexus doesn’t actually sell the entire climate control as one piece. You would be in the range of $2500+ trying to get this same unit from Lexus. If you find a $500 – $800 climate control from a used seller online then you are not getting any type of warranty, these units probably haven’t even been tested, and they certainly don’t have our brand new LCD screen installed or our TAE 2002 – 2009 Lexus SC430 Climate Control Anti-Glare LCD Screen Protector. This screen protector makes your unit look brand new and helps with sun glare when the convertible top is down. That is the best way to enjoy this great coupe.
