We designed several gauge cluster needles with different styles or colors for different vehicles. Ford and GM use a standard stepper motor with a shaft that the needle easily slides on and off of.

The lighting for the needle comes from the cluster circuit board, which is indirect lighting.  The needle itself is not illuminated in any way. These needles “light up” similar to how a hallway lights up with a bulb.

Sometimes LED conversions are needed on the cluster circuit boards to eliminate old bulbs and install new, bright colored LEDs so your needles can shine.

Other needles like our Lexus needles are already LED from the factory. Any repairs or modifications we make are exchanging LED’s that are part of the needle itself.
